The Spanish motoring club RACC and Bosch launched the Spanish ESC ChooseESC! campaign under the name "ˇExija ESC!" on 28 November 2007 in Madrid. 200 participants, including the traffic directorate director Pere Navarro and representatives from the Spanish road safety commission of the Parliament, received information about the safety benefits of ESC and a status on the availability of ESC in Spain.
Estimates show that up to 600 lives could be saved in Spain each year if all vehicles had ESC. This is the background for this new campaign launch which is endorsed by the F1 driver Pedro Martinez de la Rosa who told the participants at the launch how important a safety feature ESC is to avoid skidding accidents.

ESC can reduce up to 40% of the number of skidding accidents and the consumers should know this when they buy a new car. ESC is today only available in 63% of the new cars in Spain which means that there is still a lot to do before all car drivers have this life saving technology in their car.
